Royal Rajasthan on Wheels TourThe Royal rajasthan on Wheels Tour was India's first train luxury train. It was launched by the Indian Railways to promote tourism in Rajasthan, and has been highly popular since its launch. Following its success, other luxury and tourist trains have been started on other routes in the country. History : The Royal rajasthan on Wheels Tour was started on January 26, India's Republic Day, in 1982. The concept of the Royal rajasthan on Wheels Tour was derived from the royal background of the coaches, which were originally meant to be the personal railway coaches of the erstwhile rulers of the princely states of Rajputana, Gujarat, the Nizam of Hyderabad and the Viceroy of British India.  Facilities There are 14 coaches in the train. Each of them is named after former Rajput states and matches the aesthetics and interiors of the royal past. Facilities include a bar with the choicest Indian and international spirits, a lounge with a good collection of books and televisions and DVD players. Cabins are air-conditioned with twin beds, channel music, intercom, and attached toilets running hot and cold water. The train has two restaurants, "The Maharaja" and "The Maharani", with a Rajasthani ambience and serving continental, Chinese, Indian and Rajasthani cuisines. Route The train departs from New Delhi and during its eight day journey, travels around Rajasthan with stops in Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittaurgarh, Udaipur, Bharatpur, and Agra. Earlier, tickets for the Royal rajasthan on Wheels Tour were restricted to foreign nationals only by the Government of India, with Indian natives not allowed on board. Full/balance payment must reach us atleast 60 days before tour depart date. 4. In case booking request is received<60 days before tour depart, we require full 100% tour deposit to confirm the booking PAYMENT OPTIONS: Either By Online Credit Card Authorization OR Swift Wire Transfer through Bank Note: Indian Nationals can forward payment in equivalent Rupees value by Cheque/Draft OR deposit in our Current A/C in nearest branch of ICICI Bank  CANCELLATION RULES: 1. The Royal rajasthan on Wheels Tour train tour is a joint collaboration between Ministry of Railways & State Govt of Rajasthan & there are very strict cancellation rules 2. If booking cancelled any time > 90 days of tour depart - Minimum 10% cancellation fee of total tour amount 3. If booking cancelled between 61 to 90 days before tour depart - Minimum 50% cancellation fee of total tour amount 4. If booking cancelled <60 days before tour depart – Full 100% cancellation fee of total tour amount 5. Booking is non endorsable & such requests are not entertained 6. Request for Postponement of journey dates will only be entertained on deposit of full tour amount & at sole discretion of RTDC top management 7. No show is non-refundable 8. Self curtailment of journey Or short journey ,for whatsoever reasons, is non refundable IMPORTANT: (a) Disputes (if any) are subject to jurisdiction of courts of New Delhi,( India ) only (b) At present ,there is no concept of Tour Insurance in India (c) Maximum liability of Indian Railways is restricted to Rs 5 lac (Indian rupees five hundred thousand only) in case of death of passenger or permanent disability |
